ABOUT ACT ONE BEGINNERS

Act One Beginners offers professional training in all aspects of Singing, Acting & Dance.

Our Performing Arts School was established in 2019 by Principal Leanne Wharf and her husband Greg.

Teaching students from ages 3 to 18 years allows our students to not only gain experience in Performing Arts, but also helps them to develop important social and communication skills, which they will carry though life.

We welcome ALL abilities, whether an absolute beginner or a stage regular. We encourage all our students at Act One to become one big family and help each other grow in confidence every single day.

If you are interested in joining our school, please get in touch with our Principal, Miss Leanne, who will provide you with further details about the evenings and venues available.

We offer a FREE TRIAL CLASS to all our potential students.

We also offer private one-on-one tuition for both Singing and Drama, with our experienced and DBS certified teachers.

This unique Summer School week is designed to provide students with a taste of what can be expected for those thinking of a career in the performing arts industry.
We will help you discover where your strengths and weaknesses lie, and nurture your potential in all three disciplines of Performing Art – Acting, Singing and Dance.
 
WHAT TO EXPECT?
 
Students will spend each day learning music, lyrics, dialogue, dance routines, stage positions and all other aspects of Musical Theatre. At the end of the week students will perform to an audience, on stage, showcasing exactly what they have learnt as an ensemble. This intensive week has strictly limited places.

💜 Well, it has been a bitter sweet end to the term to say the least ……. 🍀Because after 4 and a half years……. We lose this Irish beauty to Dubai 😭💔😢 Arden has been such a HUGE part of Act One and it’s going to leave a massive hole in our hearts to say goodbye! 📚But … this gorgeous, talented lady is going for two years of a lifetime teaching at a school in Dubai!!! 🌟 And although we will all miss her so very much, we are super proud of her and she will be welcomed home with us ANY time and we wish her all the luck in the world in her new journey!💔 Our hearts are broken but their hearts are about to become super full!! 💜 A HUGE well done to Lilah & Autumn who took their solo LAMDA exams at the Burnley Public Examination Centre on Saturday afternoon!! 🌟 Lilah took her Grade 1 solo Musical Theatre 🌟 Autumn took her final grade in solo Musical Theatre!!! Her Grade 8!! I cannot believe how long I’ve been teaching this young lady for!
